Our first ever blog post!
Hi, I’m Hannah…
I am 31 years old (at the moment) I live in Blandford with my partner Sam (and still waiting on my engagement ring after 11years) and my two little boys Tommy (5) and Alfie (2). We came to live in Blandford 8 years ago after living in Bournemouth.
Family days out for us consist of beach trips, park dates and being surrounded by our friends and family. As long as there’s some decent snacks we’re happy!
My little boy started school last September (2023) at one of the local village schools, and if I’m completely honest this time last year I couldn’t even talk about him starting. The whole process of my first baby, the one who made me a mummy leaving me to go and start his new venture at big school made my heart hurt. But here we are, we’ve just about made it through nearly his first year of school and I cant quite believe it.
Which is where myself and Nat met. Not knowing each other at all from the beginning of the school year, my lovely little boys came down with the most horrendous sickness bug and as an emetophobia mum; I remember once they were better talking to a lovely lady at school (Nats mum) and her telling me her daughter had the exact same phobia as me. And from then on everything was history. We share so many things in common and having somebody who just completely understands all the worries you go through, well there is just no better feeling than someone who just gets it…
And I’m Nat!
A nurse who hates sick, you couldn’t make it up could you!
I’m 32, with my own little men Jack (5) and Finn (4). I married my soul mate last year and it truly was the best day of my life, my boys walked me down the aisle and were our ring bearers. I met Adam at Uni in 2015, studying Paramedic Science. Since then I have progressed in my nursing career to an ACP and my job carries a huge amount of responsibility. However, no amount of responsibility I’ve had has ever come close to that of being a mum.
During my first year as a mum, I really struggled. Jack had a cows milk protein allergy and reflux. He would cry for long periods of time, sleep for shorter periods and just generally shatter any image I had of what being a first time mum was going to be like. So naturally, like any sane person when he was just 4 months old I decided to get pregnant with our second baby…..
During the first five years of motherhood, I’ve realised the importance of friendship, kindness, empathy and surrounding yourself with likeminded people.
Han is all of that to me and more, her boys are like my own and she treats mine like they’re hers.
We hope you will be able to find what you’re looking for and be able to treat yourself here with us at Pamper&Play, hopefully we can be your village.
